An attack described as a "terrorist" strike targeted offices of Jordan's powerful intelligence service Monday, killing five people and raising concerns that Islamist militants were behind the bloodshed in the Western-allied nation.
Jordan's government spokesman, Mohammed al-Momani, said the "terror attack" took place at 7 a.m. in the Baqaa Palestinian refugee camp near the capital, Amman, on the first day of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
The dead included four members of the intelligence agency and a receptionist, he added.
